Abstrak
Technological advances in agriculture have encouraged the application of automated systems to increase the effectiveness and accuracy of the sorting process. One of the main problems faced by agricultural industry players is the dominance of the manual sorting process, which not only consumes a lot of time and labor, but is also prone to errors due to human factors. Therefore, this research is focused on designing and implementing an automated vegetable sorting system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and supported by industrial protocols, so that the classification process can be carried out more systematically and efficiently. The system is designed using the ESP32 microcontroller as the main controlling brain that coordinates the work of the TCS3200 color sensor and the HX711 Load Cell weight sensor. Based on the color and weight parameters, the vegetables will be directed automatically to the appropriate container through an actuator in the form of a servo motor, while the DC motor drives the conveyor as the main transportation medium. To support live remote monitoring, the Blynk application is used as a user interface that displays real-time sorting data and provides operational control.
Test results prove that the system can accurately and consistently detect and sort vegetables into three categories: tomatoes (red in color), peppers (green in color), and vegetables unfit for consumption due to excessive weight. With this system, the sorting process becomes faster, more precise, and less labor-intensive, and can be operated remotely. This research shows that the utilization of IoT technology has great potential to support digital transformation in the agricultural sector.
