THE ANALYSIS OF TRANSLATION TECHNIQUE AND QUALITY OF THE PUBLIC INFORMATION AT PT GARUDA INDONESIA Tbk

As Indonesia's national airline, Garuda Indonesia has a responsibility to provide excellent service, including providing easy-to-access public information to passengers. One example is to provide bilingual content on its social media, as social media has become one of the most accessible means of disseminating public information in today's world. Therefore, the public information that is conveyed must be of high quality. This study aims to explore the translation of public information from Indonesian to English in the captions of the TikTok account @garuda.indonesia. Beside that classify the types of public information (2022), identify the types of Skapik clauses (2021), identify translation techniques based on the theory of Molina and Albir (2002), and determine the level of accuracy and acceptability of caption translations based on the theory of Nababan et al. (2012). This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with Research location from tiktok account @garuda.indonesia. This study used primary data collected directly by the researcher and secondary data from previous study. The results of this study show that the most dominant type of public information is information that is conveyed immediately, followed by information that must be conveyed periodically and information that is always available. For translation techniques, the most dominant technique is established equivalent, followed by literal translation, amplification, reduction, borrowing, description, and adaptation. The accuracy aspect of caption translation shows an accurate translation with a score of 2.8. Meanwhile, the acceptability aspect shows an acceptable translation with a score of 2.8.
