Abstrak
This study discusses the translation of noun phrases in the criminal segment on the Twitter caption of The Jakarta Post account. This study was conducted to determine the types of phrases, translation techniques, and translation quality, especially regarding acceptability in translating noun phrases in the criminal segment on the Twitter caption of The Jakarta Post account. The analysis of translation techniques is based on the theory of Molina and Albir (2002) and the translation quality assessment by Nababan, et al. (2012). This study used a descriptive qualitative method. This study shows that the dominant type of phrase is the noun phrase modifier, which is 108 out of 120 data because this type of phrase has a descriptive function, especially in news media to add more detailed information. The dominant translation technique is the established equivalent, which is as many as 75 out of 120 data because this translation technique produces translation results that are context-appropriate in Indonesian rules, acceptability quality obtained a value of 2.59 from the highest score of 3. This means that the acceptability quality of the Twitter translation feature on the Twitter caption of The Jakarta Post account is less acceptable.
