Abstrak
This research discusses the translation of financial terms found on the official website of one of financing company in Indonesia. The objectives of the research are to identify the types of financial terms, the translation techniques used, and to assess the accuracy score of the translated financial terms. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data consisting of 100 financial terms taken from the Corporate Information and Our Services pages on the Indonesian and English versions of the official website. The findings reveal that the most dominant type of terms fall under the category of Corporate Finance (73%), followed by Investments (18%), and Institutions & Markets (9%). A total of 12 translation techniques were identified: established equivalent (70%), calque (8%), discursive creation (4%), literal translation (4%), reduction (3%), pure borrowing (3%), naturalized borrowing (2%), amplification (2%), variation (1%), transposition (1%), generalization (1%), and particularization (1%). In addition, the most dominant technique used is established equivalent, with 70 terms. Moreover, the translation techniques applied were found to affect the quality of the translations. Based on the analysis, the average score of accuracy in this research is 2.60, indicating that the translation quality of the financial terms is relatively high and accurate.
