ANALYSIS OF TRANSLATION TECHNIQUES AND STRATEGIES OF DECLARATIVE SENTENCES IN THE ANNUAL REPORT OF PT HM SAMPOERNA TBK.

This study examines the translation techniques and translation strategy of declarative sentences from Indonesian to English in the Annual Report of PT HM Sampoerna Tbk. The use a descriptive qualitative method, this study aims to identify the types of declarative sentences containing statements based on Putrayasa's theory (2017) and to identify the translation techniques and strategies applied in the English translation based on the translation techniques theory by Molina and Albir (2002) and the translation strategy theory by Suryawinata and Haryanto (2016). The data consists
of 100 declarative sentences that explicitly contain at least a
subject and a predicate. The results show that the most frequently used type of declarative sentence is Inductive at 38%, followed by the Literal Translation technique at 23%, and the Cultural Equivalent strategy at 48%. This indicates that the translator aims to balance maintaining the original meaning while adapting to local cultural elements in the target language (English).
