Abstrak

In designing an analog sensor system integrated with the Modicon TM221 PLC, the primary challenge is incorporating the sensor system into the PLC control system so that it can be monitored via HMI Touchscreen, SCADA, and IoT. The analog signals are managed using a 12-bit resolution Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) that converts these signals into digital data, which is then processed by the PLC and monitored through the HMI Touchscreen, SCADA, and IoT. The accuracy of each sensor is evaluated using various measuring instruments, including a multimeter, tachometer, digital thermometer, and ruler, to measure the parameters produced by the sensors and compare them with the PLC-generated data. While the potentiometer, rotary encoder, and level sensor exhibit good accuracy, the temperature sensor has an error that exceeds the 0.5% tolerance limit. The measuring instruments display the test data in decimal form; however, the PLC program does not process decimal data because the HMI Touchscreen, SCADA, and IoT systems are unable to display fractional values. This limitation leads to a loss of precision in measurement and data collection.
