Abstrak

Cassava is a food source that is high in carbohydrates, the carbohydrate content in cassava ranges from 34.7-37.9%. Cassava can be processed into flour, traditional foods, and chips. In this research, it will be done by first designing the construction of the tool. starting with the stage of designing the inlet, cassava outlet, Cassava Pusher Using Spring and Mainframe. The components needed to design this tool include an electric motor, Pulley And V-Belt, Slicing Knife and Spring using technology. After the electric motor is turned on and rotated, the engine speed is transmitted to pulley 1 and from pulley 1 to pulley 2 by driving the shaft with a belt. It will be sent. After the shaft is rotated, the blade disc will rotate and be ready to cut the cassava. After the cassava is cut, the processed product exits the hopper. This research resulted in a machine equipped with acrylic covers on all parts except the cassava outlet. This machine is easy to operate and requires only one operator. The capacity of this cassava slicer can reach 70 kg/hour with an automatic spring pusher. The transmission system of this cassava slicer changes the speed of the electric motor from 1400 rpm to 232 rpm. The transmission system uses a V-belt type A65. The design of the cassava slicer requires power from a 0.25 horsepower electric motor.
