Abstrak

This research is qualitative descriptive research aimed at discussing category shifts, translation techniques, translation accuracy, and translation acceptability of business terms used on the IDX website. In this research, the analysis of category shifts refers to Catford's theory, while the analysis of translation techniques refers to the theory by Molina and Albir (2002), which includes 18 translation techniques. The assessment of translation quality in terms of accuracy and acceptability is based on the theory by Nababan, Nuraeni, and Sumardiono (2012) through Focus Group Discussion sessions with competent raters in the field of English and business translation. In this research, a total of 129 data are obtained and classified into 4 categories of translation shifts: 81 data experienced structural shifts, 27 data experienced intra-system shifts, 17 data experienced unit shifts, and 4 data experienced class shifts. Nine translation techniques are used, including calque, reduction, modulation, amplification, description, established equivalent, adaptation, transposition, and generalization. The most frequently used technique is calque, with a frequency of 68 data or 53% of the total data. The translation quality of terms on the website is considered accurate and acceptable in the target language, with respective scores of 2.86 for accuracy and 2.87 for acceptability.
